Hi, I'm Angela Farlam

I’m a former psychiatric nurse, coach, author, and hypnotherapist. For over 40 years, I’ve been fascinated by the connection between our thoughts, beliefs, and behavior.

Through coaching, hypnosis, and practical tools, I help people create meaningful and lasting change in their lives.

Somewhere between recovering from a second bout of cancer, navigating the breakdown of a long-term marriage, and saying goodbye to my beloved dog, I found myself reflecting deeply on what truly helps me stay grounded, resilient, and at peace—regardless of life’s circumstances.

Those experiences inspired me to write. Mastering the Mind is a book that shares many of the insights, tools, and perspectives that have supported me through life’s challenges and continue to guide me today.

My intention, both through my book and my coaching sessions, is to help people realize that much of our experience of life is shaped by the thoughts we pay attention to and the meaning we give them. Our sense of reality can change from moment to moment, even in the face of adversity.

I believe true freedom doesn’t come from avoiding, suppressing, or numbing our feelings. It comes from understanding what is creating our fear, questioning the stories we tell ourselves, and discovering that peace, clarity, and resilience are available to us even during life’s most difficult moments.

My hope is that through our work together, you’ll discover that no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve faced, you have the power to rewrite your life’s script and create a meaningful new chapter.

Why I Became a Scriptwriter for the Mind"

My fascination with awesome brain power didn’t just come from textbooks—it came from initially wondering why my Dad had depression and what it actually was. I was curious, so much so that I trained as a psychiatric nurse but I didn’t find the answer i was looking for, I knew there was more than just popping pills and treating the symptom and not the underlying cause.

I realized that traditional coaching only changes the conscious mind. To create permanent shifts, we have to look deeper. That’s why I combined strategic coaching with hypnotherapy and authored Mastering the Mind—to give you a practical blueprint to re-code your thoughts from the inside out.

It is written as part biography and part self help book, the book is useful but there’s nothing better than interacting with a coach in a live setting. These days i know lots of people are using AI, particularly chat GBT as their personal coach and Im not sure if you are or if you realise that although AI is a fabulous tool, it is rather biased and doesn’t press your buttons like a live coach will. And AI can’t work with your unconscious patterns and that’s why nothing can replace a live interaction.
